My Ricky Bobby Poster

[Ricky Bobby Poster]

Sweet… Make your own at the Talladega Nights website.  Yes… I know… my headshot looks like crap, but it’s the only one I have access to from the office…

That thing got a Hemi in it?  Yes sir!

I know where I’ll be on Friday night with my wife in tow, how about you?

Will Ferrell + NASCAR + Screaming, Underwear-wearing, Will Ferrell = Comedy in my book.

If only they could have found a way to work Steve Carell in… or maybe they did?  Will Ferrell popped up out of nowhere in Wedding Crashers

Optimus Prime gets Prostate Cancer

Robot Chicken on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim and DVD is a fantastic show.  This clip is from one of the first episodes of the show.  After seeing about 5 clips from the show on the Internet, I picked up the first season DVD and it was well worth the 20$ I spent, LOL!

Who Wants To Be A Superhero?

Stan LeeLast night I was flipping channels around 9 because there wasn’t anything on and I stumbled upon the premiere of the new Sci-Fi reality show, Who Wants To Be A Superhero?  While I was disappointed that I couldn’t watch Law & Order or CSI reruns, I did enjoy this new show even though it was a reality show.  It kept me entertained for almost and hour and interests me enough that I might have to tune in again next week.

The premise of the show is that Donald Trump Stan Lee is trying to find a new superhero that will get a comic book and star in a made-for-Sci-Fi movie.  That would be pretty sweet, especially if you are one of the obsessed odd-balls that is a contestant on the show.  You have got to check out some of the costumes and the way people act, that alone is worth tuning in for.

It gets better…

A new “Fletch” from the creator of Scrubs!?

Bill Lawrence, creator of Scrubs(aka the best show on TV) is writing/directing a prequel to the Fletch movies and hoping to get Zach Braff to start as the title character.  This could be sweet if it gets done right…

I love Scrubs.  The pace, the characters, the “knowing is half the battle” morals, and the writing, it’s all great stuff.  If a tenth of that wit is in this movie, it’ll be hilarious…

On another day we can debate why Scrubs gets the shaft every season when the schedule comes out.

Waste Of Space

I have a link to the as-yet unreleased Waste Of Space movie trailer!  I think it’s great and am looking forward to seeing the movie when it comes out.  Since the trailer hasn’t been officially released yet, I dunno how long the link will work or if this is “final.”  This ain’t Star Trek, but it looks pretty funny to me, plus I know the captain!

Star Trek XI

Star Trek XI Poster ThumbnailI’m a couple of days behind on posting this, but a teaser poster for Star Trek XI was shown at Comic-Con last week.  Obviously, it’s old school which I’m alright with because I’m a fan of all Trek.

I love Star Trek.  My devotion to it is mainly limited to the TV shows and the movies, but I’ve read a few of the books and played a few of the games.  My dad and I used to go to Star Trek conventions which were a lot of fun to me because I saw all of the different people that liked Star Trek, first got introduced to Japanese Anime (outside of Robotech) at one, and listened to the people behind the characters talk about Star Trek and other interesting things.

I think we’ve all thought about doing this…

Cellphone XRayIn Missouri, the trial has begun for a man accused of shoving a cell phone down a woman’s throat…  The jurors must consider jealous rage, drunkenness, and alcohol-born amnesia when they decide on the verdict.

Hopefully a good precedent will be set because I think there are quite a few people running around that deserve to have their cell phones shoved down their throats or maybe up their…

Monopoly… now with less counting

MonopolyLooks like playing Monopoly just got easier… Cash!? We don’t need no stinkin’ cash!

That’s right, in the UK a new version of Monopoly just came out sans cash.  In lieu of cash, players now have debit cards and a card reader so they don’t have to be burdened with counting and handling money.

I just have one question since they say that using debit cards makes it more like reality… how much debt are you allowed to ring up before declaring bankruptcy and keeping your properties because of weak laws?

OK, maybe another question… can you apply for more cards and rotate the debt so you can get more stuff?

Maybe it’s different in the UK, but I know how we Americans love to buy stuff we can’t afford.

Be an Expert on Anything

Stephen Colbert tells us how in the latest issue of Wired which features a nice how-to guide that covers many topics.  “Be an Expert on Anything” is great as well as some others that are on the website and some that are only in the magazine right now.

Counter Intelligence

Tim was in a short treatment for a possible series about hapless NSA agents and the hijinks that ensue… Tim shines in this teaser that manages to work in a strip-club, drunkeness, and terrorists in under five minutes. I dunno about you, but I’m ready for the next ep…

Waste Of Space

Waste Of Space - Tim

What is Waste of Space? It’s a movie coming this fall starring my boy Tim Goewey as the drunk, womanizing captain of a crappy spaceship with a crew of nitwits. Sounds eerily similar to when we used to work together except the starship was an e-learning company, the nitwits were smart-asses, and Tim’s not a captain…

Personally, I can’t wait to see it on the DVD that Tim is gonna hook me up with when it gets released. In the meantime, we’ll all have to make due with pics on the official site until they release the trailer.

Pandora

I used to have XM in the car and online, but when they tried to get me to pay $14 a month instead of the $5 I was accustomed to, I told them to take a hike. After that I realized how much FM radio sucks (thank God for AM) and that streaming music on the internet is hit-or-miss.

My days of crappy music at the office ended when I came across Pandora. The Music Genome Project assigns attributes to songs and artists that are used by Pandora to create “stations” of music that is taylored to your tastes. It uses a thumbs-up/thumbs-down rating system to further customize the music to your needs. Best of all, it’s free!

Movie Trailers - TMNT and Children of Men

TMNT
This looks pretty cool… The style of the CGI is pretty slick.

Children of Men
Who doesn’t love a good dystopia?

Voltron Got Served

Sadly… as great as they were when I was 6, this is probably better than most Voltron eps.
